QUETTA, May 10: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has announced that the provincial government will establish a Marble City at Gadani for processing various precious stones and minerals.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the one-day International Conference on Investment here on Saturday evening, he said the Marble City would comprise 600 acres of land along the coastal line.

"Every foreign investor would be allotted one acre land free of cost and three acres on easy installments in the Marble City," he announced. He said the government was also setting up industrial estates in Gwadar, Pasni and Ormara to facilitate foreign investment.

"We have also approached the federal government regarding the issuance of a notification to establish an Economic Zone in Gwadar," he said and expressed the hope that the notification would be issued shortly.

The governor requested foreign diplomats to ask their respective governments to help Balochistan develop by making investment in different sectors. Investment and Privatization Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh said over 600 multinational companies were working in Pakistan.
