RAWALPINDI, May 6: Police have enlarged the scope of manhunt for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and workers and made more arrests on Thursday, sources said.

Local leaders of the party have either gone underground or confined their activities to reduce the risk of arrest before the expected return of party president Mian Shahbaz Sharif.

Information secretary of the party Siddiqul Farooq was arrested in the early hours of Thursday while Shakil Awan and Malik Sultan were picked up in the morning.

Raids were conducted at the residences of Chaudhary Tanveer, Sardar Naseem and Maqbool Khan, but they could not be arrested. Siddiqul Farooq and former MPA Shakil Awan have been booked under 3-MPO and sent to Adiala Jail for three months.
