KARACHI, May 4: Provincial Education Minister Irfanullah Marwat on Tuesday warned of action against managements of those private schools which were charging exorbitant fees and demanding extra money from parents for holding extra-curricular events.

"We are also receiving complaints about some private schools which are paying quite less salaries to their teaching staff as compared to actual amount mentioned in their vouchers.

There are several private educational institutions which don't have sitting arrangements and space for children," the minister said while talking a delegation of Private Schools' Management Association, Sindh, at his office.

He assured that the education department would give a chance to all those private educational institutions which were not registered with it under the relevant law, and those whose managements were imparting substandard education to their students.

Mr Marwat said that like the teachers of public sector school, those in private sector institutions would also be sent abroad for professional training.

Syed Khalid Shah, who was heading the delegation, apprised the minister of issue and problems being faced by private schools and supported the planned action against substandard education. EDO Education Prof Raees Alvi and representatives of private schools' associations in Sindh were present. - PPI
