KARACHI, April 30: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan is offering a one-year diploma programme in health care systems management, starting from Sept 6.
The programme is designed for those medical and dental graduates who are interested in pursuing their career in heath management.
It is targeted at those working in public or private sector health care organisations, including teaching institutes, hospitals, community-based organisations and NGOs.
DCPS in HCSM is a unique programme that follows a step ladder pattern leading to the Fellowship of the College. It is designed specifically to meet the health care needs of the country.
The aim of the programme is to prepare doctors to effectively manage health-care organisations at all levels of care, both in public and private sector.
After successful completion of the diploma programme, the participants will be able to analyse the contemporary health care systems, use scientific and evidence based approach for provision of quality health care that is efficient and cost-effective, apply principles of financial management to allocation of resources, priority setting and decision-making, apply epidemiological and statistical concepts for better planning and management of health-related issues, demonstrate use of health information systems and technology in an effective management of health care organization, market health care services focusing management to optimize performance and effectively manage health care systems. -PPI
