KARACHI, April 30: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has issued directives for establishment of an institute of orthopaedics as a constituent institute of the Dow Medical University.

Presiding over a meeting at the Governor's House here on Friday, Mr Ibad stressed that there should be an effective advancement in providing modern health facilities and to make them accessible to common people.

He made it clear that the objective of setting up the Dow Medical University was to bring this prestigious medical institution in conformity with the requirements of the city and the province.

He emphasised that orthopaedics department needs to be upgraded for an improved and better medical and educational facilities and to bring it at par with modern-day requirements and research activities. The governor asked the VC of the Dow University to chalk out a comprehensive strategy. -APP
