HYDERABAD, March 29: According to unofficial results of the Sunday local government by-election in the district, Dr Rahila Magsi won the seat of Nazim of Chambar-I Union Council by defeating Awam Dost Panel candidate Amin Hyder.

Dr Rahila, elder sister of Sindh Minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, got 4,547 votes while her opponent received 313 votes. Mohammad Ibrahim Kalro of the Magsi group won the seat of Nazim of Pyaro Lund Union Council by securing 1,979 votes. His opponent, People's Party Parliamentarians-backed ADP's Dr Mohammad Khan Lund, obtained 1,675 votes.

In Qasimabad taluka, Sher Mohammad alias Khurram Leghari won the seat by securing 811 votes. His opponent, Mahboob Abro of the Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party, who was also supported by a group of PPP activists, got 713 votes.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement's Faheem Baig Mughal won the seat of union council-9 Naib Nazim by defeating ADP candidate Nisar Halepoto. Mr Mughal secured 2417 votes while Mr Halepoto obtained 416 votes. ADP candidate Abdul Jabbar Magsi won the seat of Lakhat Union Council Nazim by getting 2,416 votes. He beat Ahmad Zaunr who got 2,151 votes.

NAWABSHAH: Tariq Magsi and Mohammad Amin of the ADP defeated Syed Kazim Shah and Din Mohammad Rind for seats of Nazim and Naib Nazim of the Chanesar-I Union Council respectively.

In Karam Jamali Union Council, Bashir Jamali of the ADP won the Nazim seat by obtaining 3,003 votes. His opponent, Meeran Jamali of the Awami Ittehad, secured 1,623 votes.

ADP's Mehboob Brohi won the seat of Naib Nazim of Ismail Brohi Union Council. He secured 2,244 votes while and his opponent, Ghani Rind of the PPP-SB, got 1,598 votes.

Abdul Rehman of the Awami Ittehad won the Naib Nazim seat of Haberi Union Council by getting 3,619 votes. He defeated Nek Mohammad Shah of the ADP who secured 1,044 votes.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Roshan Behan of the Jatoi group won the seat of Nazim of Manaheen Union Council, Moro taluka. The Jatoi-Syed Ittehad grabbed most of the seats in the district.
