KARACHI, March 22: The construction of an auditorium at the Arts Council is in its final stages and is expected to be completed by the end of April.

This was stated at a meeting of the Project Committee of Arts Council. Presided over by District Coordination Officer Mir Hussain Ali, the meeting was convened on Monday to review progress on the construction work.

To run the affairs of the auditorium in a smooth way, the meeting decided to constitute a management committee, on which some of the members would be nominated on a permanent basis. These members would be inducted on the basis of experience and good knowledge of their respective fields.

Members of the governing committee will also be inducted into this management committee so that the vacuum of the Technical Project Committee was filled which would no longer continue after the completion of the project.

The DCO on the occasion asked for convening of a meeting of the Project Committee on March 29, at which proposals for the establishment of the proposed management committee would be presented and discussed.

Those who attended the meeting included prominent theatre personality Kamal Ahmed Rizvi and TV producer Zaheer Khan. Zaheer Khan presented a proposal for the provision of recording facilities for live coverage of dramas and plays by the electronic media. - APP
