SWABI, March 19: The Amir of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, has said that the Islamic movement is the only solution to the present uncertainty and terrorism by anti-Muslim forces throughout the world.

Speaking at the inauguration of a JI office here, he said that the present operation by the Pakistan Army in South Waziristan was similiar to the war waged by British forces against the Turangzai Haji Sahib.

Qazi Hussain said Pakistani forces were fighting against Mujahideen in tribal areas but they should realize that the war they were fighting was endangering Muslim unity. He said the country was in the grip of poverty, unemployment, violence, law less ness and insecurity, and even the judiciary was not dispensing justice.

Regarding Pakistan's special status with the US, Qazi Hussain said: "We have tested American friendship at the time of the fall of Dhaka when America assured Pakistan that a US warship was preceding to defend Pakistan, but it proved to be only rhetoric. Today America is creating trouble between Pakistan and Iran so as to grind its own axe, he added.

Qazi said that MMA has never compromised on the LFO but according to the 17th amendment MMA has favoured the government according to which Musharraf will take off his uniform and national security will be abolished. The provincial Naib Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Shabir Ahmed Khan and MNA Muhammad Usman Khan Advocate also spoke on this occasion.
