BAHAWALPUR: Six policemen held

BAHAWALPUR, March 19: Ahmedpur police arrested six policemen, including Sumundri SHO and an ASI, for raiding the house of a PCO owner in Ahmedpur East on Friday morning.

A police party headed by Samundri SHO Wali Muhammad raided the house of Sheikh Naseer without informing the Ahmedpur police. As Naseer was not present there, the police arrested his nephew Rizwan and took him with them to Samundri in a private vehicle.

At this, the Bahawalpur range DIG was informed who ordered the immediate arrest of the raiding party. Compliance with DIG's order, the Ahmedpur police arrested SHO Wali Muhammad, ASI Tassaduq Hussain, constables Abdul Ghaffar, Abdul Majid, Zafar and driver Riaz near Karachi Morr.

The arrested were sent to jail and a case was registered against them under sections 365, 155 and 156 PPC.

DEMO: PML-N leaders and workers on Friday demonstrated against the Wana operation on the call of its provincial president Zulfiqar Khosa. In this respect, a rally was brought out after Friday congregation from Jamia Masjid. The participants raised slogans against the government.
