KARACHI, March 16: Pakistan's opening bats woman Kiran Baloch smashed the highest individual score in history of women cricket in the one-off Test against West Indies at National Stadium on Tuesday.

26-year-old Hyderabad-born Kiran blasted an unbeaten 242 as Pakistan women declared their first innings at 426 for seven wickets at tea break after resuming at their overnight score of 242 for one.

By stumps on the second day in the four match series, West Indies were reeling at 72 for five wickets in their innings, still needing another 204 runs to avoid the follow-on.

Envis Williams with eight runs in 82 minutes batting and Verena Felicien with five were at the crease when play ended for the day. Shaiza Khan caused the main damage in Caribbean batting ranks with three wickets for 21 runs in nine overs.

Kiran in all batted for 584 minutes, facing 488 balls and it included 38 boundaries. She beat the previous highest individual score of 214 by M. Raj of India against England in 2001-02.

Overnight 138, Kiran reached her 150 in 380 minutes with 26 boundaries and reached the coveted double hundred mark in nine hours and five minutes studded with 38 hits to the boundaries.

Kiran with her captain Shaiza Khan added 95 runs for the sixth wicket after Pakistan team lost three wickets to left-arm spinner Felicia Cummings with the score at 273.

Cummings took three wickets of Batool Fatimah Naqvi, Urooj Mumtaz and Nazia Nazir in 11 balls to trigger the collapse. All three failed to score.
