KARACHI: Man killed in robbery

KARACHI, March 16: Armed men shot dead a young man and injured his brother during a robbery in Korangi on Tuesday morning. Police said that bandits entered in a house in Sector 33-C, and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint.

As they were collecting valuables from the house, the inmates tried to pose resistance to the bandits, who opened fire and fled away, injuring Munawwar Baig and his brother.

The police said that Munawwar died on the way to hospital, while his brother, Aslam, suffered bullet wounds in the firing. Due to the scuffle with the inmates, the bandits could not take away valuables, the police said.

KILLED: An unidentified man was killed by unknown persons in Preedy police limits on Tuesday. The police said that body of a young man in his mid 30's was found at Shahrae Liaquat, on Tuesday morning.

Police said that victim was killed by a sharp edged weapon. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy. Later, the body was sent to Edhi morgue for identification.

KILLED: Unknown persons killed a young man and dumped his body in Malir Nadi. His body was found in the limits of Sharafi goth from Malir Nadi. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for the post-mortem examination.

Hospital sources said that the victim was killed by strangulation. The body was shifted to Edhi morgue for identification, after autopsy.

ROBBED: An owner of a poultry farm was deprived of Rs1 million at gunpoint in FB Area on Tuesday morning. Police said that Mr Sohail had withdrawn the amount from a bank in Karimabad and was returning in his car (AAR-627). He was intercepted by two men on a motorcycle in Block-16, who snatched the amount and escaped.
