HYDERABAD, March 15: Boycott of SSC examinations in almost all districts of Sindh by teachers continued on Monday. The teachers have been observing token hunger strikes and taking out processions in support of their charter of demands.

In Hyderabad, teachers did not turn up for their duties and held a protest meeting, criticizing the government for its apathy towards their problems. Hyderabad Government Secondary Teachers' Association general- secretary Zameer Khan said the struggle would continue till the acceptance of their demands.

The teachers also held a protest demonstration outside the press club. Reports from Sanghar, Dadu, Nawabshah and Shikarpur districts indicated that GSTA members continued their boycott where authorities conducted the examinations with the help of non-teaching staff and private teachers.

Teachers also boycotted the examinations held in schools of Dadu which were affiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Teachers Association, Larkana.

Teachers in Shikarpur held a demonstration outside the press club for their demands. Meanwhile, a meeting of the All Sindh Primary Teachers Association was held the at Lakhi Gate Boys' Primary School, Shikarpur, which accused the Sindh education minister of committing irregularities. After the meeting, the teachers blocked a portion of the National Highway for some time.
