JACOBABAD: Three killed in clash

JACOBABAD, March 11: Three people, including a woman, were killed in a clash between two groups in the Adhero village, in the limits of the Osta Mohammad police station in the Jafarabad district on Thursday.

Gul Mohammad Machhi, accompanied by his accomplices, is reported to have forcibly entered the house of Imdad Machhi and opened fire as a result of which Imdad Machhi, Abdul Hameed Machhi and Ms Manzooran Bibi were killed on the spot. The assassins later fled from the crime scene. The deceased's bodies were shifted to the Osta Muhammad hospital for autopsy.

ALLEGATIONS DENIED: Mir Fareedullah Khan Jamali, son of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, on Thursday accused the PPP of levelling false accusations against him, saying the party was doing so to gain political mileage.

He said this while talking to newsmen here at the Jamali House. He said that the PPP lacked issues to politicize after the settlement of the LFO issue in parliament.

Terming allegations levelled against him false, baseless and fabricated, Mr Jamali highlighted his family's contribution in the national politics, saying his family had kept itself away from corruption. Rejecting the reference submitted with the NAB, he said he and his family was ready to face accountability.

SSC EXAMS: The secondary school examinations will be held according to their schedule as all arrangements in this regard have been made, says the EDO (education).

The EDO (education), Abid Hussain Jakhrani, said this while talking with this correspondent on Thursday. He said that he had held a meeting with the DCO, the DPO and the district nazim to seek their help for maintaining the law and order situation.

He said that five committees had been constituted for the smooth conduct of examinations, which would be responsible for carrying out vigilance at the examination centres and control unfair means. The EDO said that he had also met with the chairman of the BISE, Larkana, in this regard.

Shabbir Bijarani, Jacobabad nazim, said that examinations would be held at all costs. GSTA leaders, including Nazir Ahmed Umrani, taluka president, Farzand Umrani, Nasir Bhutto and Mohammad Tayyab Soomro, said that they would boycott examinations. Meanwhile, the primary teachers of Jacobabad continued their token hunger strike on Thursday.
