KARACHI, March 10: Yasir Hameed, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Yousuf Youhana gained some invaluable practice ahead of the first One-day International against India as Pakistan XI defeated PCB XI by 79 runs in a one-day warm-up tie at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

Yasir and Inzamam, the Pakistan captain, each retired after making 87 (off 94 balls, six fours and two sixes) and 52 (off 46 balls, six fours and one six) respectively. Youhana contributed a 79-ball 62 while hitting seven boundaries as the national side rattled up 285 for five in their 45 overs after winning the toss.

Young off-spinner Saeed Ajmal turned in an impressive performance to pick the wickets of Younis Khan and Abdul Razzaq in a seven-over spell of 34 runs. Saqlain Mushtaq, the Pakistan off-spinner, was well below his best as his nine wicketless overs yielded 62 runs.

PCB XI, in reply, reached 206 for seven. Shahid Afridi, the leg-spinning all-rounder named in the ODI squad, claimed two for 53 in nine overs.
