SIALKOT, March 8: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has offered its technical and financial assistance to the district government for the timely completion of 'Sustainable livelihood in barani areas' and other projects.

The offer was extended by the head of an ADB delegation, Dr James Keddie, here on Monday after a meeting with the in-charges of nation building departments.

The ADB delegation also laid emphasis on developing the agricultural and livestock sectors, development of water resources and their management, construction of farm-to-market and link roads and culverts in the barani areas in Sialkot, Daska and Pasrur and border villages.

It said the bank would also consider assistance in promoting the information technology in the Sialkot district. The ADB team appreciated the district government's efforts for the uplift of the area.

ARREST: A raiding team of Gepco, Daska, led by XEN Javed Iqbal Ghuman on Monday raided a rice mills on the Sambrial-Wazirabad Road and arrested owner Khadim Ali for stealing the electricity.
