KARACHI, March 5: Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkil Kazi has called for a report from concerned departments within two days regarding latest position of the implementation of Tameer-i-Karachi Programme.

A circular to this effect has been sent to additional chief secretaries of planning & development department, local government department, DCO and EDO (works and services), informing them that a meeting in this regard would soon be convened.

Meanwhile, in the light of a report from the planning department, Dr Kazi asked the ACS (development) to ensure a follow-up of the Karachi Land-use Plan and the related projects be given a boost through augmented liaison with all the agencies, including the city government.

He called for maintaining the beauty and environment, as well as caring for the rights of rural population, while developing green belts, coastal belt and roads under the Land-use Plan.

The CS sought a report regarding under-repair roads in Karachi and the under-construction flyovers at FTC and Shahrah-i-Quaideen.Details have also been sought about work on Korangi Road, Jam Sadiq Ali Road (Korangi Industrial Area), Sharea Faisal (from airport to Steel Mill), M. A. Jinnah Road, Mai Kolachi inter-section and other road projects.

Dr Kazi also took notice of public complaints regarding slow pace of repair work on the road underneath the flyover at Liaquatabad No 10. -APP
