HYDERABAD, May 18: The first and second semester examinations of the departments and institutes of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, started on Saturday.

The university authorities have set up 16 examination centres at Allama I.I. Kazi campus for the examinations.

Admit cards of students were checked by heads of departments and institutes at the main entrance while the examination wing had also set up counters in various departments to provide guidance to the students about their seat numbers and examination halls.

Tight security measures had been taken by the university with the cooperation of the local administration outside the examination centres.

Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui visited examination centres of various faculties and institutes. A committee of the deans of the faculties and senior professors also visited the examination centres and checked the arrangements.

LIBRARY: The Allama I.I Kazi Central Library of the University of Sindh will remain open in the afternoon on every Sunday from May 19 up to the end of the semester examinations.

This was announced by the vice chancellor of the university during his surprise visit to the library on Friday evening.

The students who were present their also briefed him about their problems and requirements in the library.

The vice chancellor directed the library staff to keep the library open till 11:00pm.
