HYDERABAD, Feb 27: Wasa managing director Tahir Ahmed prepared a contingency plan of the agency here on Thursday to ensure improved services, specially during the month of Muharram.

As per the plan submitted to the district as well as provincial governments, special arrangements have been made for extension in the working hours of the main pumping stations, provision of water tankers, de-silting and strengthening of drains as well as disposal of slime, covering of manholes and removal of garbage along procession routes and near Imambargahs and mosques, and setting up of complaint and emergency centres.

The managing director also asked the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company to ensure uninterrupted supply during Muharram.

He advised people to lodge their complaints on telephone No9200090 at Thandi Sarak complaint centre, 9260106 and 9260105 at Latifabad centre, 9200199 at Hyderabad city centre, 9240043 at Qasimabad centre and 633531-2 at water supply treatment plant centre in case of water shortage or failure of sewerage system.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Development Authority director- general directed Wasa offices to remain open during the Muharram holidays - 8th to 10th - to attend to public complaints.
