HYDERABAD, Feb 26: The directorate of excise, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas, recovered 340 kilograms of high-quality charas from a truck on the Nasarpur Link Road on Wednesday and arrested two person.

On a tip-off, a raiding party of the department stopped the truck in Chandan Mori near Matiari and recovered the refined charas from it. The arrested persons, Saeed Khan and Akhtar Zaman, reportedly belong to an inter-provincial group of smugglers.

During interrogation, the accused said they had brought the charas from Hub area, Balochistan, for selling in interior Sindh. The Excise police registered a case against the accused under the Narcotics Act. Sindh Excise and Taxation Minister Abdul Rauf Siddiqui has congratulated the special squad for foiling the smuggling attempt.

SU: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday notified for information of students of private colleges/ institutes affiliated with the university that the date for submitting examination forms had been extended up to March 5 with a late fee of Rs200.
