NRAP names squad for SAF Games

KARACHI, Feb 24: National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) on Tuesday named a 28-member men and women shooting squad for the 9th SAF Games scheduled to be held at Islamabad from March 29 to April 7.

The squad comprising 18 men and 10 ladies for air rifle, pistol and shotgun events, was picked after two sets of trials and on the basis of performances of some shooters in recently concluded 10th Asian championship held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), said executive vice president NRAP Parvez Abbasi.

The selection committee headed by Parvez had members, Razi Ahmed Khan, Ukrainian coaches Victor Sivkov, Alexander Kaminisky, Idrees and Ali.

Men: Ayaz Tahir, Dawood Jan, Waseem Sajjad, Muhammad Kaleem, Muhammad Mushtaq, Shahid Imam, Irshad Ali, Kashif Riaz, Zahid Ali, Idrees Rashid, Muhammad Abbas, Ghazanfar Abbas, Afsar Khan, Tariq Mansoor, Ahmed Sultan, Khurram Inam, Muhammad Shafiq, Amin Karamat.

Ladies: Nazish Khan, Nadia Saeed, Urooj Fatima, Sajida Sharif, Habbira Yaqoob, Nosheen Khan, Farhat Nasreen, Azra Nazir, Shagufta Zulfiqar, Naureen Tabbasum. -APP
