COLOMBO, Feb 24: Sri Lanka won't always play just one fast bowler against Australia's strong batting line-up in the ongoing one-day cricket series, coach John Dyson said on Tuesday.

The hosts used only one paceman, Chaminda Vaas, and six spinners for Sunday's second match at Dambulla, and the veteran bowled a sensational last over to shape his team's one-run win.

Dyson, the former Australian Test batsman, said he was happy the gamble of picking one fast bowler paid off. "It does not mean that in every game we are going to do that. We took the decision to suit the wicket," he said.

Another likely change is the inclusion of hard-hitting opener Saman Jayantha at the expense of wicket-keeper Romesh Kaluwitharana, who failed with the bat in both the previous matches. Jayantha will make his one-day debut if selected. - AFP
