ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: Pakistan's top player Aqeel Khan was a comfortable first round winner on Monday, casually brushing aside Jahandad Khan 6-1, 6-2 in the Greener Pakistan National Clay Court championship at the PTF Complex.

Aqeel, fresh from his victory in an All-Pakistan tournament in Rahim Yar Khan last week, toyed around with his opponent on what was a busy second day of the tournament.

His brother Jaleel Khan, also had an easy outing against Muhammad Umair whom he walloped 6-2, 6-2. It was also a cakewalk for Asim Shafik, his victim being Noman Yahya who was thrashed 6-1, 6-1. The promising Wasif Cheema and Shahzad Khan also scored victories.

Shahzad beat Azeem Khan in three sets 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 while Wasif hammered Mutib Pasha 6-2, 6-2.
