PESHAWAR, Feb 23: NWFP Minister for Information Technology and Science and Technology Hussain Ahmad Kanju has said the provincial government has accorded top priority to education and a huge amount has been earmarked for the development of education sector.
He was speaking as chief guest at the ground-breaking ceremony of a community model school at Seria Barawal in Swat district. The construction of Swat Medical College and Degree College Kabal buildings was the example of the government's interest in this regard, he added.
The minister said that work on 38 developmental schemes, including construction and repair of Nekpekhel Irrigation Channel at a cost of Rs35 million, Kabal Degree College and Kanju School, Kanju-Shah Dheri Road, Nengulai Bridge and Swat Medical College building would be started shortly.
Mr Kanju said that after the implementation of Hasba Act, problems of the people would be solved at their door steps. He said Rs35 million had also been allocated to Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals for purchase of medicines which would benefit poor people of the area.
Superintending Engineer Works and Services Swat Circle Sher Ali Khan, Deputy Director Works Swat Sohail Bin Qayum, elite of the area and a large number of people were present on the occasion. -APP
