LAHORE, Feb 19: A meeting held on Thursday to review law and order for Muharram, spotted 154 'sensitive' places in the city. The meeting, presided over by city police chief Tariq Salim Dogar , was told that 318 reserves would be deployed for the security of 3,656 Majalis and 558 processions. Similarly, police squads would be deployed at imambargahs, mosques and sensitive places.
The police chief urged the SPs to consult leaders of various schools of thought, peace committees and area notables to ensure security. The meeting was told that measurers had been taken to maintain smooth flow of traffic.
Teams would be set up for checking the people staying at hotels and inns besides search and surveillance of passengers at bus and wagon stands. Police and commandos would be deployed at entry and exit points of the city.
Special crisis management cells would be set up which would work round the clock to coordinate with different law enforcement agencies working for the Ashoora.
