Seven die in accident

OKARA, Feb 18: Seven passengers died while 11 others received injuries on Wednesday when an Okara-bound bus overturned near Chak 34/2-RA, on the Okara-Satgarh road.

Reports said a bus (FDA-9594) was coming to Okara when it overturned on the Okara-Satgarh road, about six kilometres from the city. The dead in the incident were identified as Muhammad Sharif, Jafar Ali, Ghulam Ali, Allah Ditta, Yaqoob Ali and Munir Ahmad. One of the victims could be identified.

The injured were Abdul Sattar, Mukhtar Ahmad, Rehmat Ali, Makhan Ali, Muhammad Nadeem, Munawar Ali, Shaukat Ali, Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Ali and two others. They all were driven to the district headquarters hospital. It was learnt that bus driver Khizr had saved his life by jumping out of the bus.
