KARACHI, Feb 17: A conference of the principals of DHA educational institutions held at the Defence Authority Main Office on Tuesday, discussed various measures for modernization and improvement of education standards at the DHA schools and colleges.

DHA Administrator Brig Maqsood Hussain, presiding over the moot, highlighted the significance of education and said that the real strength and glory of a country lies in having a strong educational base.

Emphasizing the need for quality education, he asked the teachers to undertake the challenging task of grooming and training the students to meet the future challenges with utmost zeal and dedication.

The conference decided that the Urdu medium schools of DHA, being run under the religious directorate, be brought in the mainstream and under the direct administrative control of education directorate.

Brig Hussain directed the DHA education director to take urgent and substantial steps to modernize the syllabi of these institutions in accordance with the contemporary academic requirements, so as to bring them at par with other leading educational institutions of the authority.

He emphasized the need for strictly following the principle of merit and transparency in selection of teachers to maintain the high education standards. He assured the teachers of solution of all their genuine problems, including that of accommodation.

He directed the principals to ensure provision of congenial and intellectually stimulating, yet disciplined, atmosphere at the DHA campuses, so as to produce confident and enlightened individuals, who could become useful citizens in the future.

DHA Education Director Brig Muzaffarul Hasan thanked the administrator for his support for the cause of education and reiterated that all out efforts would be undertaken to make the DHA educational institutions to emerge as distinctive seats of learning. -APP
