HYDERABAD, Feb 16: On the call of the ARD, activists of PPP and other political parties continued their protest campaign against the president for the fourth consecutive day on Monday in different cities of Sindh.

The protest was a part of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy's "remove Musharraf: save Pakistan movement." In Hyderabad, the People's Party Parliamentarian workers, led by MNA Shamshad Bachani and MPA Pir Amjad Shah Jilani, reached the press club in a motorcade, where a camp was set up for hunger strike.

A provincial leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Afzal Gujjar also observed the token hunger strike. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Bachani said that the movement was aimed at the restoration of real democracy to save Pakistan.

NAWABSHAH: The workers the PPP and PML-N, under the banner of the ARD, continued their protest outside the local press club. The protesters, led by MNA Dr Azra Pechuho and MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio, were demanding immediate removal of President Gen Pervez Musharraf and release of Asif Ali Zardari.

KHAIRPUR: Three MPAs, Nawab Khan Wassan, Mehreen Bhutto and Naseem Kharal, and a large number of PPP workers observed a token hunger strike here.

DADU: Hundreds of PPP activists held a demonstration outside the local press club to protest against the president. Led by PPP MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali, the protesters observed a token hunger strike later.

SHIKARPUR: On the call of the ARD, a protest sit-in was staged here at Mirani Eidgah. Earlier, a procession was taken out by the PPP and PML-N activists.

BADIN: A three-hour hunger strike was observed by PPP and PML-N activists, including Kadhan Union Council Nazim Jehan Khan Chandio and Naib Nazim Noor Mohammad Mallah, at the Mehran Chowk here. Later, led by MPA Ali Nawaz Chandio, MPA Abdul Qadir Soomro and others, the protesters, including women, marched through the town's main thoroughfares.

THATTA: PPP MNA Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, MPA Nabeel Gabol and other party leaders and activists observed a token hunger strike in coastal town of Chuhar Jamali.
