HYDERABAD, Feb 16: The Qasimabad police on Monday booked two police constables Ali Nawaz and Hussain Shah for possessing illegal weapons. The policemen were arrested in Sehrish Nagar and two illicit weapons were recovered from their possession.
Police sources said the booked policemen had deprived Fahad Memon, a nephew of a senior police official, of a cellular phone and cash at gunpoint in Sehrish Nagar a week back. The sources said the boy used to make calls to a girl who complained to the Qasimabad police.
The policemen asked the girl to call the boy at some place. The boy reached the place the girl had suggested from where the police took him to Sehrish Nagar and threatened him with dire consequences.
The policemen were booked under section 13-D, Arms Ordinance, as the family of Memon refused to lodge a criminal case against them.
BAIL GRANTED: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Monday granted the bail of Rs1 million to a Palestine national who was booked under section 18/22 of the Immigration Ordinance 1979.
Applicant Jalal Mehmood Al-Farah was booked by Federal Investigation Agency on the charge of running an illegal business of recruitment of manpower for the Arab countries. He was accused of obtaining money from Mohammad Zaman, Mohammad Saleh and others on the pretext of providing them jobs in Arab countries.
