KARACHI, Feb 15: A large number of children, accompanied by their parents, visited 'Nature Carnival' organized by the WWF-Pakistan on the lawns of PAF Museum on Sunday.

Over 60 stalls were set up by different organization where the hosts were giving detailed briefings to the visitors regarding the objects of display. Many schoolchildren had prepared miniatures models and replicas of numerous wildlife species and different ecosystems. They informed visitors about their models and ideas.

At one of the stalls, replicas of snow leopard were displayed and students there were telling the visitors about various threats that the big wildcat, which resides at a high altitudes in the northern areas, was facing from human beings.

According to their observations, some villagers kill this beautiful wildlife species as it eats livestock whereas poachers kill it either for its hide or as part of their adventure.

Some students had prepared models based an oil spill caused by the grounded foreign oil tanker Tasman Spirit off the Karachi port owing to which marine environment and marine life suffered devastation. Models highlighting ruthless deforestation in the northern areas of the country were also among the displayed objects.
