DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 12: NWFP's Finance Minister Sirajul Haq on Wednesday visited Qazi Abdul Latif, provincial head of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal at his Kulachi residence, resolving differences among the MMA components.

MMA's acting chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed had advised NWFP's senior minister to hold a meeting with leaders of the MMA and the JUI-S' provincial chief in this regard. Their meeting lasted for two hours and they discussed the complaints by their smaller allies. The agreed to refer the matter to the alliance's supreme council, likely to meet in Islamabad soon.

Expressing concern over the indifferent attitude of the NWFP government, Qazi Latif told the minister about the non-execution of development schemes in certain constituencies.

Mr Haq assured him regarding induction of the JUI-S' sole MPA into the provincial cabinet, adding that differences should be resolved through negotiations.

Qazi Latif told the minister his party's Shura would soon approve the settlement. It was learnt that the government had decided to expand the cabinet after Muharram.
