PESHAWAR, Feb 11: The outdoor patient department of the Hayatabad Medical Complex treated 17,704 patients during January 2004, while 8,958 accidents and emergency patients were provided medical care during the same period. Similarly, 2,954 patients were admitted to the hospital.

Apart from performing 953 major and 285 minor operations 260 patients were extended MRI facilities at the medical complex, besides being extended facilities for 669 CT scans, 2,870 X-rays, 1,260 ultrasound and 10 mammographs.

At least 111,901 laboratories tests were performed at HMC during January 2004. The complex's eye department performed 324 major and 105 minor operations during the past month. Its orthopaedic department provided 76 major and 24 minor operations facilities during the period.

HMC's plastic surgery department performed 58 major and 40 minor operations, while 123 major and 18 minor operations were performed by the complex's gynae department. The medical complex's general surgery department performed 204 major and 30 minor operations. -PPI
