SUKKUR, Feb 9: The district and sessions judge, Jacobabad, on Monday ordered the registration of an FIR against ASI Israr Ahmad Khoso, constable Iqbal Shah and two unidentified constables for allegedly gang-raping a girl.

The judge, Faiz Rasool Rashid, issued the order after recording the statement of the victim. The policemen had raided the house of Hashim Brohi eight days back, looted the house and taken away the girl, Mehmooda, and her brother, Rajab Brohi.

The police kept them at the Civil Lines police post, Jaferabad, in illegal confinement for several days. Hashim Brohi later moved an application before the session judge who ordered the first judicial magistrate to conduct a raid at the police post.

The judicial magistrate recovered both the detainees. Later, the girl told the magistrate about the criminal assault on her. Meanwhile, Jacobabad DPO Din Mohammad Baloch suspended ASI Khoso and constable Shah.

GIRL DIES: A minor girl was killed and 35 other persons fell unconscious when they ate poisonous vermicelli in the Tagio Nandvani village, near Kandhkot, on the Sindh-Balochistan border on Sunday.

All the persons belonged to a Bagri family. They were rushed to hospitals in Tangwani and Kandhkot towns where doctors said that the patients had taken poisonous food.
