SHIKARPUR: 58 heads of cattle looted

SHIKARPUR, Feb 6: Twenty armed men of Rajab Jatoi and Dadlo Jatoi villages took away 58 heads of cattle from Teenda Mahar village on Thursday.

Residents of Teenda Mahar, Sherkot and Habibkot villages came out on the Sukkur-Shikarpur road soon after the incident and blocked it for three hours.

They were demanding recovery of the cattle of Mohammad Nawaz Mahar, Mohammad Ishaque Mahar, Khalid Anwar Mahar, Nazir Ahmed Mahar and Ramzan Mahar. DPO (investigation) Fida Hussain Mastoi reached the spot and pursued the villagers to open the road for vehicular traffic.

Some miscreants looted cash and valuables from the passengers of vehicles parked on the road during the blockade. The regional police officer while taking notice of the incidents suspended the TPO Lakhi, Ghulam Rasool Sangi and SHO Rajib Soomro.

FIRs: A case was registered against 30 bandits at the Lakhi police station on the complain of Ahmed Mahar on Friday. The police said 32 heads of cattle were recovered while the remaining would be recovered soon.

No arrest was reported till the filing of this report. Another FIR was registered on behalf of the state against 200 miscreants, including Jabbar Mahar, Allah Dino Mahar and Abdullah Mahar. It was stated that the accused robbed passengers during the road blockade near Habibkot village on Thursday.

RECORD BURNT: Old revenue record at the Mukhtiarkar office Shikarpur was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out on Friday. The fire was brought under control after three hours.
