VEHARI, Feb 1: Robbers beat up members of a family and took away valuables worth over half a million rupees in four incidents in the district on Saturday night.

Four gunmen forcibly entered the house of landlord Fateh Mohammad at Chak 192 WB. They beat up the family members when they put up resistance and later locked them in a room. They collected Rs200,000 in cash, 50 tolas of gold ornaments and other valuables and escaped with the booty.

Three robbers entered the house of Nasim Bibi in Chak 11 WB and took away Rs60,000 in cash and other valuables.

In Thingi Colony, unidentified men took away six sacrificial animals from the dera of landlord Mubarik Ali worth Rs100,000 at gunpoint. Four robbers drove away with the tractor-trolley of farmer Iqbal loaded with cotton worth thousands of rupees in Mauza Mero Baloch.
