HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The Latifabad Taluka Council here on Sunday has constituted a committee to review promotions of taluka municipal administration employees of grade-1 to 15.

Speaking at the council meeting, Abdul Sami Abbasi, Faseehul Hasnain Shah, Mohammad Naseem Faridi, Abdul Khaliq Abbasi, Rais Arain and others criticized the TMA for ignoring the senior and experienced employees in respect of promotions.

They said injustice had been done to some of the senior and competent employees in promotions and demanded the situation should be rectified in the interest of justice.

Taluka Nazim Abdul Jabbar Khan said promotions were given by the departmental promotion committee on the recommendations of the CBA union which had provided a seniority list.

He argued employees gave the right to the union to protect their interests and added no promotion was granted due to personal likes and dislikes. The council also approved the purchase of tractors for the improvement of sanitation system in the taluka comprising 17 union councils. The council approvedRs200,000 for telephone bills of the taluka offices.
