KARACHI, Jan 29: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that there is no shortage of atta in Karachi. He said that 2,000 to 5,000 tons of wheat was being supplied daily to flour mills while an agreement would also be signed with Punjab whereby 100,000 ton wheat would be supplied to Sindh in two phases.

Moreover, he said the federal ministry of food and agriculture was importing 0.15 million ton wheat out of which Sindh's share would be 0.1 million ton. Mr Naimatullah said that the chief secretary was personally looking into this matter and he had directed the food department to submit wheat distribution report to him on daily and weekly basis.

He said the government had come to know that wheat loaded trucks were being sent to Balochistan via Hub and an inquiry was underway in this regard and strict action would be taken against those found involved in it.-APP/PPI
