PESHAWAR, Jan 28: A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court on Wednesday adjourned sine die hearing of a writ petition filed for disqualification of PML-N MPA Malik Imran.

The bench observed that the petition would be heard after disposal of a petition filed by Mr Imran in the Sindh High Court. The University of Karachi had, in its comments filed in reply to Mr Imran's petition, stated that his graduation degree had been cancelled by the university as it had been acquired through tampering the record.

The petition in the Peshawar High Court has been filed by Naqeebullah Khan, a resident of Lakki Marwat, who requested the court to disqualify the MPA as he was not a graduate. Mr Imran won election from PF-75 constituency by defeating PML leader Saleem Saifullah Khan and other contestants.

The counsel for Mr Imran produced a copy of the writ petition filed in the SHC. He said Mr Imran had challenged the cancellation of his degree by the Karachi University before the SHC.
