QUETTA, Jan 26: The law enforcement agencies succeeded in making a ceasefire between two armed rival tribal groups in Dureji area of Lasbela district who had been firing at each other for the last three days over a dispute on land and marble mines.

The armed tribesmen of Bhootani and Jamali tribes vacated positions they had taken against each other on mountains. Provincial Home Minister Mir Shoaib Nusherwani issued a statement late on Monday night confirming killing of one person in the armed clashes.

He said police and other law enforcement agencies had taken over the control of the whole area after removing the bunkers made by the armed tribesmen. "Situation is under control after the ceasefire between both the armed group," the home minister said in his statement, adding that both the rival groups had taken up heavy arms on land and marble mines' leasing dispute.

He said a foreign company engaged in oil and gas exploration was working without any hurdle and the government would provide full protection to the company.
