ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) will establish an industrial colony and estate for traders of the federal capital.

This was stated by newly appointed senior vice chairman of FPCCI Munawar Mughal at a meeting on Sunday. "This will help boost Pakistan industrial production as well as increase exports. The two organizations will also take necessary steps to prepare the industrial and trading community to face the challenge of WTO by holding special seminars and workshops with the help of experts," he said.

Another important input of this collaboration, Munawar Mughal said, would be to analyze problems being faced by the business community and take up these issues with the government departments concerned.

Mr Mughal asked the business community to work for the establishment of a university for traders' children, and said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had assured them that a plot would be allotted for this purpose.

President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zubair Ahmed Malik, speaking on the occasion, congratulated Mr Mughal and appreciated his focus on the problems being faced by the business community at large.

The meeting was also attended by senior vice-president Chaudhary Mukhtar Ahmed and FPCCI vice-president Sohail Altaf, besides Zafar Bakhtawari, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Khalid Javed, Khan Abbas Khan and Sheikh Tariq Sadiq.

Munawar Mughal announced that both chambers would soon organize an exhibition in Islamabad in which exporters from abroad would participate. Further, he stated, that members of both chambers would visit different countries to explore new markets for export.
