KARACHI, Jan 25: The vacancies of registrar and controller of examinations in the National Council for Homeopathy are lying vacant for quite some time. The post of the registrar is vacant since 1996 and that of the controller of examinations since 2002.

Expressing concern over this situation, the chairman of Pakistan Homoeopathic Physicians Society, H. Dr Syed Javed Shah, has demanded of the federal health minister to fill in the posts immediately.

Dr Javed Shah said the absence of these two officials has led to creation of legal complications. He said that as a result of this situation, problems of homeopaths are not being resolved and, therefore, unrest is generating among them.

He urged the government to take steps to improve the situation so that this body could play its due role for promotion of homeopathy in the country. He also referred to injustice being done to the council employees and demanded that hard working, honest and efficient employees should be given due promotions.-APP
