KARACHI, Jan 23: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Syed Ali Aslam Jaffery, on Friday issued notices to the secretary health , beverages companies and others on a petition filed by Haji Gul Ahmed seeking laboratory tests of soft drinks.

The petitioner submitted that the ingredients, used in beverages, are harmful for human health and it may not be allowed to be sold without appropriate tests.

The health and law ministries, beverage companies and others are named as respondents in the petition. The court was prayed to conduct lab tests of these beverages and in light of test reports, appropriate direction be issued.-PPI
