SARGODHA, Jan 20: Three alleged proclaimed offenders who had killed four policemen were arrested on Tuesday by Sargodha police with the help of Elite Force from the General Bus Stand here along with a huge quantity of sophisticated weapon.

According to eyewitnesses, a Sargodha police and Elite Force team intercepted a car near the bus stand. The three car riders tried to run away but police overpowered them.

Later, police identified them as Razzaq and Rafaqat. They, however, did not disclose the identity of the third suspect. During preliminary interrogation, claimed police, they confessed that they had killed four police officials of Jalalpur Jattan and planned to kill some elite of Sargodha district.

Sargodha police informed Gujrat police and after confirmation they were shifted to Gujrat amid tight security. It is learnt that the Sargodha police, though confirmed the arrest of Razzaq and Rafaqat, did not enter their arrest in the record and showed that the Gujrat police had arrested them.

Meanwhile, the weapons recovered from their possession included grenades, Kalashnikovs and other automatic guns with huge quantity of bullets.
