ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: The president of Microsoft Corporation, Emre Berkin, said the Pakistan government had created an investment-friendly environment in the country for the foreign investors.

He was talking to the Senate chairman, Mohammadmian Soomro, whom he paid a visit in the Parliament House on Monday. Mr Berkin said his company was cooperating with various departments in Pakistan to promote information technology.

Mr Soomro appreciated the corporation for taking interest in Pakistan's IT sector and extended assurance of full cooperation on behalf of the government in implementing its plans in future.

Earlier, Avdo Abdullah, the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, called on the Senate chairman on Monday evening. During the meeting, the Bosnian envoy said a delegation from Bosnia will visit Pakistan to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation in the field of coal mines in Sindh.

Mr Abdullah said his country was keen to develop relations in various fields with Pakistan and expressed the hope that exchange of high-level visits between the two countries would strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries.

The Senate chief highlighted that there existed a vast scope for promoting mutual cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, textile, technology and business. Mr Soomro said there was a need for exchange of high level visits by the commercial delegations between Pakistan and Bosnia with a view to promote bilateral cooperation.
