KARACHI: Road repair begins

KARACHI, Jan 18: The city government has begun construction work of Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, Karsaz, at a cost of Rs48.8 million. The work on two-and-half-km road from Sharea Faisal to Stadium Road will be completed in 12 months.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the construction work on Saturday evening, said the city government was inaugurating different many schemes, but it did mean that any compromise would be made on the quality of work.

He said all construction works being done could be judged in accordance with international standard and the roads being constructed by the CDKG would last for 20 years. He said next week construction works on Shahrah-i-Orangi, University Road, Shahrahra-i- Ghalib, and Manghopir Road would begin.-PPI
