HYDERABAD, Jan 14: Provincial Police Officer Syed Kamal Shah on Wednesday said investigation wings of the police could be given under the administrative control of operations DPOs.
He was talking to journalists at the Police Training College, Shahdadpur, after the passing out parade of a batch of 617 ASIs, including 15 women. When asked about the experiment of Sanghar and Shikarpur districts where investigation wings were working under operations DPOs, he said it had yielded positive results as charge-sheets were now being presented in courts on time and a cohesion had taken place between the two wings.
The provincial police officer said the same could be done in other districts if the government gave approval as investigation and operation wings were a part of the Police Order 2002.
