THATTA, Jan 13: Over 20 suspects were arrested on Monday night in an operation against outlaws launched by heavy police contingents from Thatta and Hyderabad in Khadi and Panah forests.

The operation was launched after the police received information that bandit Ghaffar Abbasi and his accomplices were present in the forests, spreading in Hyderabad and Thatta districts, along with two hostages, Ghazanfar and Sarfaraz Memon.

The police have also closed entry and exit points of the Hilaya forest. Meanwhile, Thatta DPO Nadir Khoso suspended Bannu police station SHO Wali Dino Jatoi and appointed Nazar Mohammad Khoso in his place.

Our Hyderabad correspondent adds: Police sources here said search was conducted in the forests but it was difficult to reach hideouts of bandits. They said the Thatta police had picked up some suspects.

BREAKDOWN: Coastal towns of Mirpur Sakro, Garho, Keti Bunder and many villages remained without electricity on Monday after a breakdown occurred at the Thatta grid station due to some technical fault. The power supply was restored after a Hesco team from Hyderabad removed the fault on Tuesday evening.
