KASUR: Two robbers kill taxi driver

KASUR, Jan 13: Two robbers shot dead a taxi driver at Langre Wali village, Phoolnagar, on Tuesday. Police said they hired the taxi of Ghulam Muhammad from Phoolnagar for Lahore. They asked the driver to stop near Langre Wali.

Ghulam Muhammad put up resistance when they tried to take away the cab at gunpoint. They opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. Some villagers saw them when they were throwing his body in nearby fields and raised an alarm. The robbers fled from the scene empty-handed. Phoolnagar police registered a case on the report of Ghulam Muhammad's son Ashraf.

Shafqat went to his in-laws' house to bring his wife back, but she refused to accompany him. Shafqat took poison after returning home and died at the DHQ hospital.
