ISLAMABAD, Jan 9: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Friday that India's willingness to enter into a composite dialogue with Pakistan next month constituted a major breakthrough in the regional situation and was a significant outcome of the efforts for peace launched by both the countries.

During a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf at Prime Minister's House, he said the adoption of the 17th Amendment by parliament was expected to head the country towards major political reconciliation and change the complexion of politics from hostility to accommodation.

The two leaders expressed the confidence that the 12th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation would pave the way for lasting peace in South Asia and promote development.

QATAR'S ENVOY: During a meeting with Qatar's Ambassador Abdullah Falah Abdullah Al Dosari, the prime minister said Pakistan accorded high priority to close relations with Muslim countries.

The ambassador conveyed the greeting of the amir and prime minister of Qatar on the successful conduct of Saarc summit and the initiative Pakistan and India had taken for the improvement of relations.

Mr Jamali reiterated Pakistan's resolve of maintaining close relations with Qatar. He said Pakistan's trained manpower was contributing to the economic development of the Gulf countries.
