KARACHI, Jan 9: Two persons died in road accidents on Thursday night.Police said Mohammad Iyas, 40, was knocked down by a bus on I. I. Chundrigar Road near Karachi Stock Exchange.

Police said that the injured was taken to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. In anther accident, an unknown motorcyclist in his mid-30s died in a hit and run accident in Nazimabad. Police said the victim died on the spot, and his body was taken to Abbasi Hospital for legal formalities.

DIES OF BURNS: An elderly man, Qasim, 60, died of burns in Mohammadi Colony on Thursday night. Police said that Qasim suffered wounds while lighting a lamp in his house.

SNATCHED: A car of the finance department was snatched at gunpoint by unknown armed suspects from Hasan Square late on Thursday night. Police said that the car (GS-0151) was snatched from an official of the finance department at Hasan Square by four suspects.

As they went towards Liaquatabad, they were intercepted by the police. Three pistols and the vehicle was recovered by the police. The suspects were identified as Talah, Faisal Beg, Ahmed Shah and Rauf.
