GUJRAT, Jan 9: Three guests of the Punjab chief minister, who were returning home after attending the walima of his son, were deprived of their car, a cell phone and Rs20,000 in cash by three robbers on Sargodha Road, Kunjah, on Thursday night.

Mehar Zulfiqar, Iftikhar and Mukhtiar Ahmad were going back to Phalia by car (LXA-45) when armed robbers intercepted them near Chokora village. They snatched a cell phone, Rs20,000 in cash from them and drove away with their car. Kunjah police have registered a case on the complaint of Zulfiqar.

SHOT DEAD: A youth was shot dead while his brother and uncle were injured critically on Friday by a man and his accomplices over a minor dispute in Jheeranwali village, Kunjah.

Hasan and his two nephews were present in their village when Ishtiaq and his four accomplices came there and opened fire on them and fled. As a result, Aitzaz died instantly while his brother Shahbaz and uncle Hasan sustained bullet wounds. The injured were taken to the local DHQ Hospital where their condition was described as critical.

No case was registered till the filing of this report. Meanwhile, a man was shot dead on Friday by two brothers over a minor issue in Eidgah area in Lalamusa.

Mushtaq was passing through a street when Bilal Butt and Rehan alias Goga Butt shot him dead and escaped. The City police sent the body to mortuary for autopsy and registered a case against the two brothers and their father Anwar.
